Position: Cook Department: Dietary
Hours: 6:00 am – 2:30 pm and 11 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. (32 hours) PT w/BENEFITS
Days: 4 days including every other weekend
The Wayne County Care Center is currently accepting applications for the position of full time cook for the County’s 50 bed skilled/ intermediate nursing facility. If you have a commitment to seniors, and support teamwork, we might be the place for you!
Responsibilities of a long-term care cook:
- Ensure all food and sanitation procedures are followed in accordance to policy
- Ensure special diet trays are served correctly to the residents
- Lead kitchen staff in cooking, traying food, prep work in the kitchen, food service, washing dishes and clean up
- Responsible for serving food on time to residents in a welcoming manner and ensuring they are satisfied
- Administer constant, quality customer service to help our residents THRIVE!
Requirements of a long-term care cook:
- High school diploma or GED
- Compassion for and commitment to hospitality, service and excellence in senior care
- Responsible, dependable, and able to work under pressure
- Servsafe Certification preferred
