Director of Nursing
Position: Director of Nursing Department: Nursing
Hours: 40 hours
Days: five days a week/ flexible time
The Wayne County Care Center is currently accepting applications for the position of full time Director of Nursing for the County’s 50 bed skilled/ intermediate nursing facility.
Responsibilities of the D.O.N.:
- Planning, organizing and directing the overall operation of the Nursing Department during the shift
- Keep the facility staff in compliance with Federal, State and local regulations that govern the facility
- Ensure patient care is handled appropriately; including documentation, assessments and procedures, in a timely manner
- Ensure care plans and Doctor’s order are being followed
- Communicate with staff, and other departments, to ensure residents are provided with the best experience possible
- Ensure that staff are mentored to provide constant, quality resident care
- Must handle all supervisory and scheduling issues
- Must participate in facility inspections as needed and perform administrative duties
Requirements of RN supervisor:
- Valid RN license
- Minimum 3-year in long term care experience, in a supervisory role
- Experience in Point Click Care preferred
- Compassion for and commitment to hospitality, service and excellence in senior care
- Ability to be a responsible and dependable team member who can take direction well
- Adaptable and able to work under pressure
